About

When I was 19, my life was changed when I started attending a Christian Science Sunday School and learned that my relationship with God completely defined me. It meant to me that my entire identity came from God, and anything that wasn’t from God wasn’t me. It was the most exciting thing in the whole world.

When I was taught in Sunday School that it’s mainly fear that makes us think we’re separate from perfection, and that perfect Love casts out fear (see the Bible, 1 John 4:18), all I wanted to do was practice letting Love kick fear out of my consciousness. I mean, if we’re not actually limited, imperfect mortals, why waste anymore time thinking we are? Christ Jesus’ life all of a sudden made perfect sense, and he became like a brother. I wanted to walk with him.

I was introduced to Christian Science by my grandma, who became a Christian Scientist about the time I was born. She shared ideas about God with me while I was growing up, but religion was not a part of my upbringing.

My mom had passed on when I was 12 and I didn’t have a close relationship with my dad. I used drugs and alcohol all through high school and didn’t have ambitions for much of anything. I did always have a wonderful home and a loving extended family that helped raise my two younger brothers and I. But Christian Science became my Rock, the stable place, in my mind and life.

When I graduated high school I moved to a new city for a job. My grandma happened to have friends there who were both Christian Science practitioners, husband and wife. I met them and immediately loved them. They had deep moral character and were so kind and supportive. From that point on I cherished the desire in my heart to be a practitioner, too. And it has been an adventure ever since.

Helping people turn toward God — learn to trust more deeply in spiritual things, be inspired to look at events and circumstances more through an inspired biblical lens — is what the Christian Science practice is all about. I love helping people discover more fully that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalms 46:1).

Christian Science is an amazing support to finding answers to problems by finding a deeper understanding of God. It’s available to everyone in the whole world, no matter who you are or where you’re coming from. I’m here to work with anybody.

If you’d like to learn more about God, strengthen your ability to follow Jesus, and approach problems with a heart of faith that “with God all things are possible,” then please contact me. I have helped people through all kinds of situations, including health challenges, financial struggles, relationship issues, substance abuse, and more. And I’d love to help you, too.

I think of my practice as witnessing the stars in God’s crown of rejoicing. In the Bible, in Revelation 12:1, an angelic woman is pictured in spiritual triumph wearing a crown of stars on her head. Each star represents a return home to Spirit — a life, a heart, even a single thought, that has dropped the burdens of the world and turned its hope to spiritual things.

With love,

AJ
